Chiropractic Care Gave Me Relief

The day I graduated from high school I promptly boarded a plane and flew north to Alaska where I started a career in commercial fishing. Over the next 12 years I climbed my way to the top, becoming one of the lead supervisors for the crew. Commercial fishing is very demanding on your body. On a daily basis I was getting bruised up, I was physically exhausted, and risking my life just went with the territory. One particularly big year our crew caught over half a million pounds of salmon! This took a toll on my body, while working so hard for many hours, with little rest, and no time for my body to recuperate, I knew I needed help. My spine from my neck to my lower back was in extreme pain, so bad in fact that I couldn't even sit. The only way I could find temporary relief was to lie on my stomach.
Growing up, my family had used Chiropractic care for pain relief and general wellness and I knew that was exactly what I need to get back on track. I contacted Back to Basics Chiropractic and met with Dr. Rueben. He was really friendly and went out of his way to help me; he was honest, and told me that I wouldn't get a simple quick fix.
Chiropractic As My New Career
After receiving chiropractic care from Dr. Rueben, I began to think about what kind of job could interest me for the rest of my life, what would be rewarding, give me freedom and happiness, and what kind of job would make me feel like I accomplished something? I've always been interested in the body and have been working out since I was 14 years old; therefore Chiropractic seemed like the perfect choice in fulfilling all of my goals and dreams. I had a good job, but I wanted more, I realized I wanted to be in a field where I could help people.
Over the next eight years I continued to work in the commercial fishing industry and at Intel all while earning my Doctorate in Chiropractic at Western States Chiropractic College in Portland. Chiropractic care is important part of my life; in fact I receive adjustments once a week in order to maintain a healthy body from head to toe. To assist in holding my adjustments I weight train 3-5 days per week and maintain healthy eating habits as well. I hope that my healthy habits inspire you to live a better life with the help of my healing hands.
I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals of whole body health! Call now to see if I can help!
